Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
scanfree is run by LMR Enterprises, based in California, USA ("scanfree", "we", "us"). This policy covers the scanfree.dev website while it is in its coming-soon stage. It tells you what we collect, why, who else touches it, and what you can ask us to do.
The short version: right now the only personal information we collect on purpose is the email address you give us to join the waitlist. We do not sell it, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not set cookies.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist. We store it with the date and time you signed up and a short label for where on the site you signed up (for example, "home").
- Basic technical logs. Like any website, our web server and hosting infrastructure may record your IP address, the page you requested, the time, and your browser type. We use these only to keep the site secure and working, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
- A bot check. The waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile runs in your browser and may process your IP address and signals about your browser and device. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
What we do not do
- We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics scripts on this site.
- We do not load fonts or other files from Google or other third-party servers. Our fonts are hosted on our own server.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
How we use your email address
We use it to send you one email when scanfree opens, and to answer you if you write to us. We do not send marketing email to the waitlist yet. If that ever changes, you will be able to unsubscribe in every message, and we will tell you here first. Each email we send will come with a working way to opt out and will identify us as the sender.
Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare, Inc. provides the Turnstile bot check (described above).
- Our hosting provider runs the server where the site and the waitlist database live.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or users.
- Business changes. If scanfree is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not give your waitlist email to advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until we have sent the launch email and for a short time after, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Deleted waitlist entries may remain in routine backups for a limited time before being overwritten.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, the waitlist database is not publicly accessible, and access to the server is limited to the people who run it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@edwardryan.dev from the address in question and we will act on your request, normally within 30 days.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the law, and we will not treat you differently for making a request.
Visitors from the EU, UK and similar regions. We process your email address because you asked us to (you submitted the form) and, for the security logs, because we have a legitimate interest in protecting the site. You may also object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. Your information is processed in the United States.
Our products when they launch
scanfree is not open yet. When it launches, this policy will be updated before we collect anything beyond the waitlist, including accounts, the business details you enter, scan results and payments. How we use data already describes our plans for that data in plain English.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will also tell waitlist members by email.
